Television Studio D Television Studio D - supports the newscast production needs of students in the School of Journalism and to a lesser degree, the students of Radio and Television Arts. Equipped with a dimmable lighting grid that uses an Electronic Theatre Controls Analogue Address dimming system, Studio D is a readily equipped three camera newscast studio that has three interchangeable sets: a news desk set, an interview set and a sports broadcasting set. The studio’s floor space is 24 feet by 29, totaling 696 square feet. The technology in this HD studio control room includes a 16 input Panasonic AV-HS450N HD switcher with built in multi-viewer and still store, a Soundcraft FX16ii audio mixer, a Grass Valley M-Series M222A I-VDR, Grass Valley's News Q Pro control and an Avid iNEWS computer to provide newscast rundown. The studio also has a DVD recorder and Teleprompters for each camera with a companion BDL teleprompter production system. In addition, the studio has three Panasonic AW-HE100 HD Camera/Pan-Tilt systems and an AW-RP555N camera Pan/Tilt/Zoom/Focus controller. The room contains dual 52" multiviewer HD LCD displays and a Panasonic BT-LH1760P HD monitor with built in waveform monitor and vectorscope. The facility connects to the rest of the Centre on the second floor and can connect to all of the Rogers Communications Centre's TV studios and Production Trunkline Systems. A fully compliant broadcast Trilogy Mercury IP intercom system connects the control room to the studio as well as locations external to the studio when required for production.Hardware
