Studio B - supports the production needs of students in the School of Radio and Television Arts to accomodate videoshoots, multimedia projects, presentation media installations and transmedia production. The studio is surrounded by a hard cyclorama and equipped with a fixed lighting grid. Like Television Studio A, the studio is equipped with external Electronic Theatre Control (ETC) dimmers and an ETC Microvision FX lighting controller. Its floor space is 36 by 28 feet, totaling 1008 square feet.

Overlooking Studio B In the upstairs control room that overlooks the studio floor, the technology includes a Ross Synergy 2 SDI switcher and a fifteen unit CRT based monitor wall used in production. Dual Panasonic DVC-Pro units and a SONY Betacam SP VTR provide recording for the studio. For graphics, a 360 Systems Image Server is used as a stillstore, an Inscriber INCA Title One is used for character generation. Like all Rogers Communications TV studios, a Torpey clock system is employed that includes a Torpey Up/Down Timer for use as a production timer. The technical director makes use of an independent auxiliary switcher and uses three Hitachi Z-2A CCU units and a Leader LV 5100D digital waveform monitor to set the camera levels during production. Television Studio B can interconnect to all of the Rogers Communications Centre’s TV studios and Production Trunkline System. A fully compliant broadcast RTS Intercom system connects the control room to the studio as well as locations external to the studio when required for remote production. The audio control room for the studio contains a thirty-two channel Tascam audio board and VegasPro audio for video software. The facility connects to the rest of the Centre through both a second floor entrance to the studio control room and the first level set of double soundproofed doors.
