The Personal Production Suites have been designed for students to work independently at an advanced level. The design concept is for the rooms to operate in an independent manner for smaller audio recording, simple ADR and foley activities. While the rooms are small there is enough room for students to bring in small instruments, record vocals and/or do simple ADR/foley activities in these rooms. The rooms provide a quite recording space and is equipped with simple tools for that allows students to walk into the room and start working with all of the basic audio technologies available in the room.

Each room consists of a Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz 20" iMac, with 2 gig of 667MHz DDR2 ran, a 500 gig hard drive, an 8X RDL Superdrive, an interconnected M-Audio interface, a microphone on a flexible gooseneck, a set of power speakers that are normally connected to the iMac but can be connected to student owned or Virtual Audio Lab laptops. The microphone can be connected to student owned or Virtual Audio Lab laptops and an XLR to USB interface is mounted in room so microphones XLR output can be converted to USB as an option to connect to laptops. Each room contains a second LCD Display on flexible arm that is normally connected to the iMac's second display. The LCD monitor connector is available to connect to student owned or Virtual Audio Lab laptops. This will allow for better interaction with computer in a more appropriate manner (ie. standing and singing, foley and ADR.)

For software the Mac partition contains Safari, Omni Outliner, Omni Graffle, iTunes linked to the Rogers Centre sound effects server, Image Capture, Front Row, Photo Booth, QuickTime, iLife'08, iDVD, iMovie HD, iPhoto, iWeb, GarageBand, ProTools, Firefox, Audicity, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel 2008 and Deep Freeze.
