Personal Shared Audio Work Stations - RCC-164D is home to four Shared Audio Work Stations designed for basic audio production work. Each station has been designed for individual work --primarily via headphones-- containing a Pentium 4 2.80GHz computer with a gig of RAM, two 120 mb hard drives, 17" Syncmaster monitor and a DVD recorder.

Students using the room will find - the room also contains a Tascam DA-30 DAT Recorder provides all the connectivity imaginable in a professional application on both analog and digital environments, an M-Audio Radium 49 Midi Keyboard that has 8 MIDI-assignable knobs, 8 MIDI-assignable sliders and real-time control of 6 MIDI parameters that interfaces to the rooms software and a Tascam US-428 USB Controller/Mixer surface that has a fully 24-bit front end, two XLR inputs, two balanced 1/4" TRS inputs, two unbalanced 1/4" inputs, S/PDIF I/O and can operate with four channels of audio in and two out simultaneously via USB.

Software in these rooms includes - Windows XP Pro, Acid Pro 4.0, Acrobat Reader, DVD Architect, iTunes with access to the Sound Effects Library, Nero 6 Express, Nuendo 2.0, Nuendo 3.0, QuickTime Player, Reason, Vegas Video, VirusScan, Deep Freeze and MS Office Pro 2003.
