Technology at the Rogers Communications Centre Faculty Presentation Systems For Use In RCC Mixed Reality Labs Click Here for a full catalogue of technology (including presentation technologies) available. Due to the design requirement - for the Mixed Reality Production Labs to be operated as multipurpose rooms, teaching faculty can look forward to using portable classroom presentation systems that are easy to use. RDY2GO Espresso Media Center's, Panasonic projectors and portable Draper RoadWarrior projection screens are deployed for use as needed in rooms RCC-361, RCC-359A and RCC-357. RCC-359B --the Visual Computing Lab-- does not require portable system as it is equipped with a fixed presentation system tailored specifically for teaching and learning in a computer lab environment. The fleet consists of three RDY2GO Espresso Media Center systems that are pre-manufactured and pre-wired roll around carts. They contain an adjustable projector mount system, built-in cooling fan with vents, 15 watt audio amplifier, 3 Speakers, a DVD/VCR Combo Unit, I/O Patch Panel, Shure Microphone and external AC for laptop(s)/other devices. The Espresso will either plug directly into the existing classroom instructor PC or facilitate faculty laptops through VGA/Audio connections on the top of the unit. Laptop users will be able to obtain AC via a power outlet on the units side. As a system the RDY2GO will provide the portability required to quickly change room function and have presentation technology in a variety of locations.Click Here to watch a two minute Flash video to get and idea of these units. Projection Screens - Rooms RCC-359A (Mixed Reality Extension Lab), RCC-359B (Visual Computing Lab) and RCC-357 (Hybrid Computing Media Lab) all have installed projection screens but when arranging classes in RCC-361 (The Electronic Field Production and Practice Lab) a projection screen will be required. A total of five 80” Draper RoadWarrior Projection Screens were obtained to assist with production related projection needs in the HCL and for presentation requirements in RCC-361. They were chosen for their lightweight and their ability to be pulled up from a floor level for quick deployment. Click Here for instructions on the Draper RoadWarrior projection screen. NEC WT610 Short Throw Projector employs aspheric mirrors and achieves large-screen projection with an ultra-short focal distance. The projector can achieve a 60-inch large-screen image from 26cm away. This projection method is achieved using 4 aspheric mirrors (1~4) that function as the lens of a conventional lens-projection-type projector. With each stage of reflection of the light rays off the mirrors, the projected image is enlarged. Please note this projector is not available for regular classroom use unless its specifications are required to deliver the curriculum.Click Here for the NEC WT610 Short Throw Projector Users Manual.
