Rogers Communications Centre Website Critique
While creating a flowchart for the RCC website, several inconsistencies were noticed. Below are some brief comments highlighting the main errors discovered on the website.
Inconsistent Labeling of Links and Pages
In several instances on this website the name of a link to another pages changes
once the user actually reaches that page. For example, on the "Facilities
& Resources" page there is a link labeled
"Utilities/Facilities", once the user clicks on that link however, he
or she is lead to an entirely different page again labeled "Facilities
& Resources".
Another instance of inconsistent labeling occurs under the "Education" topic heading. Clicking on the "Projects" link leads the user to a page now labeled "Projects & Research". And on that page is a link to another page with the same title of "Projects & Research"
Headings
The sub-headings at the top of the page are often misleading. They seem to
relate to a different topic from the actual page. For example, the "News
& Events" page has the sub-heading of "Re-Emergence
Convergence". It is not clear how these two topics/terms relate to one
another, and this might be confusing for users would either. What makes these
particular sub-headings even more unusual is that when the user clicks on a
sub-topic on the "News & Events" pages (such as "Meetings",
for instance). The sub-heading changes location and is then known as
"Convergence Re-Emergence".
