Flowcharting Symbols - User Clicks and Auto Go-Tos
| User Click: Indicates that the user is required to click on an object/icon/item located on some part of the current screen using the activated cursor in order to proceed to the next. | |
![]() |
This example illustrates an animation sequence that allows the user to click out of the screen at any point to reach a T.O.C. (table of contents) screen. |
![]() |
Automatic Go-To: Indicates that the program automatically continues to the next screen without a user click/user control. |
![]() |
This example illustrates an animation sequence which - when it ends - automatically leads the user to a T.O.C. (table of contents) screen. From the T.O.C. the user has 3 options to choose from. |
Automatic Go-To with a User Click: There will be times when the program gives the user options of either waiting for the screen to automatically continue to the next or choosing to click to proceed to the next screen without waiting for the automatic change. In this case the flowchart would use a combination of both the Automatic Go-To and the User Click symbols.
![]() |
In this example, the cursor is active within the animation sequence so that at any point within a sequence the user can either wait for the sequence to end and automatically proceed to the next screen, or click the sequence to proceed to the next screen |
