The Community around the Rogers Communications Centre
Since its inception - the Rogers Communications
Centre has been an integral part of Toronto's media
production community. Actions such as opening its
doors to local associations, direct participation
in professional organizations or working directly
as active members in various consortium's, the Centre
has integrated itself into the local, national and
global media community.
Events
- on most Tuesday evenings throughout the year
the Eaton Lecture Theatre in the Rogers Communications
Centre plays host to a variety of professional
media associations that are active in the city. The associations we currently support include the Toronto sections of the Audio Engineering Society and Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the Toronto Final Cut Pro Users Group.

NMBA - Ontario’s Voice For Interactive Media - The New Media Business Alliance (NMBA) is a not-for-profit industry trade organization committed to the growth of the Ontario interactive digital content industry. To this end NMBA is an industry advocate within Ontario and nationally as a founding member of the Canadian Interactive Alliance /Alliance interactive canadienne (CIAIC).
To facilitate connections between businesses and stimulate industry growth NMBA organizes numerous events throughout the year – including a high-level international industry iSummit (www.isummit.ca), monthly case studies/panels and networking events. NMBA represents over 100 interactive digital media companies and stakeholders including broadcasters, content producers, e-Learning companies, educational/training institutions, game developers and guilds.

The Advanced Television Systems Committee, Inc., is an international, non-profit organization developing voluntary standards for digital television. The ATSC member organizations represent the broadcast, broadcast equipment, motion picture, consumer electronics, computer, cable, satellite, and semiconductor industries. ATSC creates and fosters implementation of voluntary Standards and Recommended Practices to advance terrestrial digital television broadcasting, and to facilitate interoperability with other media.

Canadian Digital Television Inc. - CDTV
is an industry-driven organization whose mandate
is to guide the orderly transition from analogue
to digital television in Canada. Launched in May
of 1998, CDTV is paving the way to a digital future
and facilitating the crossover period to ensure
a smooth and timely roll-out. CDTV operates by
directing research and testing, identifying and
advising on policy, regulation and marketplace
issues; and developing and monitoring the digital

Canada - represents Ryerson University amongst
